I was born to parents who were claymation animators of kid’s shows, commercials, and other productions in the 1980s. This normalized a cartoonish lens of the world around me and I proceeded to pick up a pen to start drawing visions of my surroundings. As I grew older I discovered a plethora of inspiration from underground comics, 1960s poster art, and of course the cartoons I watched on 90s TV. I went to music school in Chicago as a saxophonist and during that time I discovered I could make money and flex my artistic muscle by drawing up scores of gig posters and album covers for funk, rock, jazz, country, reggae, hip hop, and electronic bands in Chicago and beyond (I sometimes would be the sax player in these bands as well!). I have since cultivated a client base and steady stream of commissioned work from these experiences. In more recent years I have taken my artistic skills around the world to places like Vietnam, the Republic of Georgia, and beyond, illustrating scenes and energies I pick up from the places I visit while integrating the local language, music, and lore into the art as well. Language, history, music, and visual aesthetic (often edgy and underground) continue to be my muse. The journey continues!
